Abacus Surveying is owned by Kristopher Phillips, Professional Surveyor with over 35 years of surveying experience.

Founder and Owner
Kristopher Phillips started doing business as Abacus Surveyingin 2007. His original company was closed in 1999 after 5 years serving the western Pennsylvania area as Phillips Surveying. In 2018 Andrew Coots, Kris’s cousin joined the firm.
Mr. Phillips and Mr. Coots are both graduates of Alfred State College, Alfred, NY with a degrees in Survey Engineering Technologies.
Mr. Phillips has been licensed in Pennsylvania since 1993 and has been surveying throughout the northeast including working for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, United States Coast Guard and survey engineering firms for the past 30+ years.
Mr. Coots received his LSIT in 2004 and has been surveying in New York and Pennsylvania ever since. In 2023, Aaron Phillips, Kris’s son joined the firm.
